Exodus 28:16

Exodus 28:16¹⁶Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof. (Exodus 28:16). A span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.

The span (zereth) is the distance between the extremities of the thumb and outside finger of the outstretched hand. It is half a cubit.
