AND is it so—that I shall see His face?
That I shall know the fullness of His grace?
That I, a sinner, vile and lost, undone,
Shall ever be with God's eternal Son?
And is it so—that in His home of light,
I am to dwell in infinite delight?
Throughout eternal ages to adore,
And dwell with Christ on heaven's eternal shore?
And is it so—that in those mansions fair,
Without a pain, a sorrow, or a care,
The One who bled and died upon the tree,
Will be my Portion for eternity?
Yes, it is so—these blessings all are mine,
The wondrous proof of grace and love divine,
Wrought out for me by Christ, the Son of Man,
Purposed for me before the world began.
Yes, it is so—ere long mine eyes shall see
The blessed One who wrought all this for me,
And in His presence find my sweet employ,
Himself my Portion, and my deepest joy.
