1. PRAYER. O keep my soul, and deliver me. Psa. 25:20²⁰O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. (Psalm 25:20).6

PROMISE. I the Lord do keep it; lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day. Isa. 27:3³I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day. (Isaiah 27:3).

2. PRAYER. How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord; forever? Psa. 13:1¹<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? (Psalm 13:1).

PROMISE. I will not forget thee Isa. 49:15¹⁵Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. (Isaiah 49:15).

3. PRAYER. Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not Psa. 17:5⁵Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. (Psalm 17:5).

PROMISE. The righteous shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. Josh. 17:9⁹And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea: (Joshua 17:9).

4. PRAYER. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel; thou that dwellest between the Cherubims, shine forth. Psa. 80:1¹<<To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim-eduth, A Psalm of Asaph.>> Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. (Psalm 80:1).

PROMISE. Unto you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. Mark 4:2²And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, (Mark 4:2).

5. PRAYER. Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path. Psa. 27:11¹¹Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. (Psalm 27:11).

PROMISE. I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psa. 32:8⁸I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:8).

6. PRAYER. Draw me, we will run after thee. Song of Sol. 1:4⁴Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee. (Song of Solomon 1:4).

PROMISE. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32³²And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. (John 12:32).

7. PRAYER. O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake; for our backslidings are many. Jer. 14:7⁷O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee. (Jeremiah 14:7).

PROMISE. I will heal their backslidings. Hos. 14:4⁴I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. (Hosea 14:4).

8. PRAYER. Say unto my soul, I am by salvation. Psa. 35:3³Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. (Psalm 35:3).

PROMISE. Thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Savior and thy Redeemer. Isa. 60:16¹⁶Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. (Isaiah 60:16).

9. PRAYER. Iniquities prevail against me. Psa. 65:3³Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. (Psalm 65:3).

PROMISE. He will subdue our iniquities. Mic. 7:19¹⁹He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:19).

10. PRAYER. Deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword. Psa. 17:13¹³Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword: (Psalm 17:13).

PROMISE. The Lord shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. Psa. 37:40⁴⁰And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. (Psalm 37:40).

11. PRAYER. Remember me, O Lord, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people. Psa. 106:4⁴Remember me, O Lord, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; (Psalm 106:4).

PROMISE. Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psa. 5:12¹²For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:12),

12. PRAYER. Give thy strength unto thy servant. Psa. 86:16¹⁶O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. (Psalm 86:16).

PROMISE. The Lord will give strength unto his people. Psa. 29:11¹¹The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. (Psalm 29:11).

13. PRAYER. O that I might have my request, and that God would grant me the thing that I long for. Josh. 6:8⁸And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the Lord, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them. (Joshua 6:8).

PROMISE. Delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart. Psa. 37:4⁴Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (Psalm 37:4).

14. PRAYER. Let them that love thy name be joyful in thee. Psa. 5:11¹¹But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. (Psalm 5:11).

PROMISE. Behold, my servants shall rejoice and sing for joy of heart. Isa. 65:13, 14¹³Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: ¹⁴Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. (Isaiah 65:13‑14).

15. PRAYER. Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears. Psa. 39:12¹²Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. (Psalm 39:12).

PROMISE. Thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. Isa. 30:19¹⁹For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. (Isaiah 30:19).

16. PRAYER. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Psa. 119:17¹⁷GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. (Psalm 119:17).

PROMISE. The righteous shall compass me about, for thou shalt deal bountifully with me. Psa. 142:7⁷Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me. (Psalm 142:7).

17. PRAYER. Turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God. Jer. 31:18¹⁸I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God. (Jeremiah 31:18).

PROMISE. There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. Rom. 11:26²⁶And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: (Romans 11:26).

18. PRAYER. I pray thee, let me see the good land that is beyond Jordan. Deut. 3:25²⁵I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. (Deuteronomy 3:25).

PROMISE. Thine eyes shall behold the land that is very far off. Isa. 33:17¹⁷Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. (Isaiah 33:17).

19. PRAYER. Let rag die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his. Num. 23:10¹⁰Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! (Numbers 23:10).

PROMISE. Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. Job 5:26²⁶Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. (Job 5:26).

20. PRAYER. O that thy hand might be with me. 1 Chron. 4:10¹⁰And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:10).

PROMISE. The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him. Ezra 8:22²²For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. (Ezra 8:22).

21. PRAYER. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Psa. 39:8⁸Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. (Psalm 39:8).

PROMISE. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him. Ezek. 18:22²²All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. (Ezekiel 18:22).

22. PRAYER. I am afflicted very much; quicken me, O Lord, according to thy word. Psa. 119:107¹⁰⁷I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word. (Psalm 119:107).

PROMISE. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. Nah. 1:12¹²Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. (Nahum 1:12).

23. PRAYER. O Lord, strengthen my hands. Neh. 6:9⁹For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. (Nehemiah 6:9).

PROMISE. Wait on the Lord: be shall strengthen thy heart. Psa. 27:14¹⁴Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14).

24. PRAYER. Put not thy servant away in anger. Psa. 27:9⁹Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. (Psalm 27:9).

PROMISE. The Lord God of Israel saith, that he hateth putting away. Mal. 2:16¹⁶For the Lord, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. (Malachi 2:16).

25. PRAYER. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall he clean. Psa. 51:7⁷Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. (Psalm 51:7).

PROMISE. I will purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin. Isa. 1:25²⁵And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: (Isaiah 1:25).

26. PRAYER. O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years. Hab. 3:2²O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2).

PROMISE. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine. Hos. 14:7⁷They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. (Hosea 14:7).

27. PRAYER. Let me see thy countenance. Song of Sol. 2:14¹⁴O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. (Song of Solomon 2:14).

PROMISE. Thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty. Isa. 33:17¹⁷Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. (Isaiah 33:17).

28. PRAYER. O Lord, arise, cast us not off forever. Psa. 44:23²³Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. (Psalm 44:23).

PROMISE. The Lord will not cast off his people. Psa. 94:14¹⁴For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. (Psalm 94:14).

29. PRAYER. Let thy-tender mercies come unto me, that I may live. Psa. 119:77⁷⁷Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight. (Psalm 119:77).

PROMISE. I will give you the sure mercies of David. Acts 13:34³⁴And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. (Acts 13:34).

30. PRAYER. O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. Jer. 31:7⁷For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. (Jeremiah 31:7).

PROMISE. A remnant of Israel shall he saved. Rom. 9:27²⁷Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: (Romans 9:27).
