Christ, the Prophet.

Foretold. Deut. 18:15, 18¹⁵The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; (Deuteronomy 18:15)
¹⁸I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. (Deuteronomy 18:18). Isa. 52:7⁷How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7). Nah. 1:15¹⁵Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off. (Nahum 1:15).

Anointed with the Holy Ghost. Isa. 42:1¹Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (Isaiah 42:1). Isa. 61:1¹The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1), with Luke 4:18¹⁸The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luke 4:18). John 3:34³⁴For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. (John 3:34).

Alone knows and reveals God. Mat. 11:27 John 3:2, 13, 34²The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. (John 3:2)
¹³And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13)

Declared His doctrine to be that of the Father. John 8:26, 28²⁶I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. (John 8:26)
²⁸Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. (John 8:28). John 12:49, 50⁴⁹For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. ⁵⁰And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. (John 12:49‑50).

Preached the gospel and worked miracles Mat. 4:23. Mat. 11:5 Luke 4:43⁴³And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. (Luke 4:43).

Foretold things to come. Mat. 243-35. Luke 19:41, 44⁴¹And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, (Luke 19:41)
⁴⁴And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. (Luke 19:44).

Faithful to His trust. Luke 4:43⁴³And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. (Luke 4:43). John 17:8⁸For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. (John 17:8). Heb. 3:2²Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. (Hebrews 3:2). Rev. 1:5⁵And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (Revelation 1:5). Rev. 3:14¹⁴And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; (Revelation 3:14).

Abounded in wisdom. Luke 2:40, 47, 52⁴⁰And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. (Luke 2:40)
⁴⁷And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. (Luke 2:47)
⁵²And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:52). Col. 2:3³In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:3).

Mighty in deed and word. Matt. 13 Mark 1:27²⁷And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. (Mark 1:27). Luke 4:32³²And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. (Luke 4:32). John 7:46⁴⁶The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. (John 7:46).

Meek and unostentatious in His teaching. Isa. 42:2²He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. (Isaiah 42:2). Mat. 12:17-20.

God commands us to hear. Deut. 18:13¹³Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God. (Deuteronomy 18:13). Matt. 17:25²⁵He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? (Matthew 17:25). Acts 3:22²²For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. (Acts 3:22). Acts 7:37³⁷This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. (Acts 7:37).

God will severely visit our neglect of. Deut. 18:19¹⁹And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:19). Acts 3:23²³And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. (Acts 3:23). Heb. 2:3³How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (Hebrews 2:3).
