 The simple fact is recorded that, in connection with his hostility against the glorious holy mountain, his end is reached, and he dies under the judgment of God. In Daniel 8 we read that the little horn, who undoubtedly is the king of the north, will “stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand” (Dan. 11:25). If this refers to the same event, as appears probable, we have in both scriptures the destruction of the prophetic Assyrian by the Lord Himself, and hence he is broken “without hand,” that is, without human instrumentality.
