Los creyentes que estuvieron cara a cara con el Señor Jesucristo cuando vino la primera vez y nació como hombre, siempre manteniendo su deidad, tuvieron el privilegio de ver a su futuro esposo antes de su muerte, resurrección, y ascensión al cielo: “Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden los que están de bodas tener luto entre tanto que el esposo está con ellos? Pero vendrán días cuando el esposo les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán. Nadie pone remiendo de paño nuevo en vestido viejo; porque tal remiendo tira del vestido, y se hace peor la rotura. Ni echan vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera los odres se rompen, y el vino se derrama, y los odres se pierden; pero echan el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, y lo uno y lo otro se conservan juntamente” (Mateo 9:15-1715And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. (Matthew 9:15‑17)). Cuando inició la iglesia en el día de Pentecostés después de Su ascensión, estuvieron sin la presencia física del Señor, pero con el Espíritu Santo que moraba en sus cuerpos.
Nosotros no hemos tenido el privilegio de ver al Señor Jesucristo con nuestros ojos físicos, es tan solo por fe; pero tenemos el privilegio de estar aguardando Su regreso para llevarnos al cielo. La boda de las bodas va a ocurrir en el cielo cuando nosotros, los que conocemos al Señor Jesucristo, estaremos en el cielo durante el tiempo de la tribulación aquí en la tierra. Seremos llevados para encontrarnos con el Señor Jesucristo en el aire en el arrebatamiento e iremos con Él al cielo. Por fin dejaremos atrás para siempre nuestra vieja naturaleza, la carne. Entonces tendremos cuerpos transformados y ya no seremos susceptibles ni a la corrupción ni a la muerte. Luego compareceremos para la revisión individual de nuestras vidas ante el tribunal de Cristo, lo que tendrá lugar antes de que volvamos a la tierra con el Señor Jesucristo cuando Él vendrá para establecer su reino terrenal: “Y el ángel me dijo: Escribe: Bienaventurados los que son llamados a la cena de las bodas del Cordero. Y me dijo: Estas son palabras verdaderas de Dios. Yo me postré a sus pies para adorarle. Y él me dijo: Mira, no lo hagas; yo soy consiervo tuyo, y de tus hermanos que retienen el testimonio de Jesús. Adora a Dios; porque el testimonio de Jesús es el espíritu de la profecía” (Apocalipsis 19:9-109And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Revelation 19:9‑10)).
Tenemos el privilegio único y supremo concedido tan solo a la iglesia: Ser la esposa celestial del Señor Jesucristo, nuestro futuro esposo. Te imaginas que ni siquiera los santos más fieles del Antiguo Testamento tendrán un lugar tan cercano al Señor en la boda y por toda la eternidad: “El que tiene la esposa, es el esposo; mas el amigo del esposo, que está a su lado y le oye, se goza grandemente de la voz del esposo; así pues, este mi gozo está cumplido” (Juan 3:2929He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. (John 3:29)). Ellos van a estar allí presentes pero como los amigos del esposo.
¿Qué preparaciones debemos estar haciendo en anticipación de esta unión celestial? “Y los veinticuatro ancianos y los cuatro seres vivientes se postraron en tierra y adoraron a Dios, que estaba sentado en el trono, y decían: ¡Amén! ¡Aleluya! Y salió del trono una voz que decía: Alabad a nuestro Dios todos sus siervos, y los que le teméis, así pequeños como grandes. Y oí como la voz de una gran multitud, como el estruendo de muchas aguas, y como la voz de grandes truenos, que decía: ¡Aleluya, porque el Señor nuestro Dios Todopoderoso reina! Gocémonos y alegrémonos y démosle gloria; porque han llegado las bodas del Cordero, y su esposa se ha preparado. Y a ella se le ha concedido que se vista de lino fino, limpio y resplandeciente; porque el lino fino es las acciones justas de los santos” (Apocalipsis 19:4-84And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Revelation 19:4‑8)). No hay nada que hayamos hecho ni que podamos hacer por nosotros mismos para merecer esta posición tan sublime. Todo depende de la obra consumada y la sangre derramada del Señor Jesucristo en la cruz del Calvario. Estaremos allí por Su justicia, no por nuestras obras. A la vez, debido a la nueva vida que tenemos en Cristo, como leímos en los versículos anteriores, nuestras acciones justas van a formar el vestido de lino fino que tendremos para la boda. ¿Ha oído de una novia terrenal que no considere su vestido de novia en anticipación a su boda? Entonces debemos ser aún más conscientes para hacer lo que le agrada a nuestro futuro esposo con quien ya estamos comprometidos y así ir preparando nuestro vestido para la boda celestial.
Cuando regresemos con el Señor cuando Él venga para poner todo en orden y estar con su pueblo terrenal, no vamos a cambiarnos de ropa. Todavía estaremos con nuestros vestidos de lino fino: “Entonces vi el cielo abierto; y he aquí un caballo blanco, y el que lo montaba se llamaba Fiel y Verdadero, y con justicia juzga y pelea. Sus ojos eran como llama de fuego, y había en su cabeza muchas diademas; y tenía un nombre escrito que ninguno conocía sino él mismo. Estaba vestido de una ropa teñida en sangre; y su nombre es: EL VERBO DE DIOS. Y los ejércitos celestiales, vestidos de lino finísimo, blanco y limpio, le seguían en caballos blancos. De su boca sale una espada aguda, para herir con ella a las naciones, y él las regirá con vara de hierro; y él pisa el lagar del vino del furor y de la ira del Dios Todopoderoso. Y en su vestidura y en su muslo tiene escrito este nombre: REY DE REYES Y SEÑOR DE SEÑORES” (Apocalipsis 19:11-1611And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:11‑16)). La única espada necesaria va a ser la boca completamente poderosa de nuestro Señor que será cual espada.
Mientras estemos con el Señor en el aire, antes de volver, empezará a formar su pueblo terrenal. La interpretación de Mateo 24 y 25 es profética. Nosotros volveremos con nuestro Esposo a la tierra. A la vez, podemos aprender una aplicación para hoy en día sobre la necesidad de estar verdaderamente listos con el Espíritu Santo que mora dentro del creyente, que en sentido figurado es el aceite. En el tiempo que se escribió estos versículos, después de hacer el compromiso el novio se iba a su tierra para preparar la casa. El Señor Jesucristo fue a la cruz del Calvario para preparar para todos los creyentes de cualquier época sus moradas en el cielo. Recordemos que en esa época no se podía mandar mensajes por celular, ni WhatsApp, ni correo electrónico; se pasaba la voz verbalmente: “Entonces el reino de los cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes que tomando sus lámparas, salieron a recibir al esposo. Cinco de ellas eran prudentes y cinco insensatas. Las insensatas, tomando sus lámparas, no tomaron consigo aceite; mas las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus vasijas, juntamente con sus lámparas. Y tardándose el esposo, cabecearon todas y se durmieron. Y a la medianoche se oyó un clamor: ¡Aquí viene el esposo; salid a recibirle! Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron, y arreglaron sus lámparas. Y las insensatas dijeron a las prudentes: Dadnos de vuestro aceite; porque nuestras lámparas se apagan. Mas las prudentes respondieron diciendo: Para que no nos falte a nosotras y a vosotras, id más bien a los que venden, y comprad para vosotras mismas. Pero mientras ellas iban a comprar, vino el esposo; y las que estaban preparadas entraron con él a las bodas; y se cerró la puerta. Después vinieron también las otras vírgenes, diciendo: ¡Señor, señor, ábrenos! Mas él, respondiendo, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no os conozco. Velad, pues, porque no sabéis el día ni la hora en que el Hijo del Hombre ha de venir” (Mateo 25:1-131Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (Matthew 25:1‑13)). Qué importante es que nosotros estemos no solamente esperando la venida del Señor para arrebatarnos sino también velando: “Bienaventurados aquellos siervos a los cuales su señor, cuando venga, halle velando” (Lucas 12:3737Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. (Luke 12:37)).
“Y el Señor os haga crecer y abundar en amor unos para con otros y para con todos, como también lo hacemos nosotros para con vosotros, para que sean afirmados vuestros corazones, irreprensibles en santidad delante de Dios nuestro Padre, en la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos” (1 Tesalonicenses 3:12-1312And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. (1 Thessalonians 3:12‑13)). “Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia, y se entregó a sí mismo por ella, para santificarla, habiéndola purificado en el lavamiento del agua por la palabra, a fin de presentársela a sí mismo, una iglesia gloriosa, que no tuviese mancha ni arruga ni cosa semejante, sino que fuese santa y sin mancha” (Efesios 5:25-2725Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:25‑27)). Cuando volvamos con el Señor después de la boda celestial por fin Él va a presentarnos mostrando verdadera pureza.
