Listen from:
God sent Peter to preach the gospel to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. Before the Jews were saved, they tried to be justified by keeping the law of Moses. But it is not possible for a person to keep the law. The true gospel is that Jesus was punished for our sins, He died, He shed His blood, and He rose from the dead so that we could be justified by faith without the works of the law. For the Jews, circumcision was a symbol of keeping the law. False brethren demanded Jewish and Gentile believers to be circumcised and to keep the law to complete their salvation. This false gospel confused the Galatian believers. Before this confusion, Peter would eat with Gentile believers. But then Peter listened to the false teachers and stopped having fellowship with Gentile believers because they were not circumcised. Paul rebuked Peter in the presence of the whole assembly because Peter was wrong to act as if he were more holy than the Gentiles. If it were possible to be holy by keeping the law of Moses, then the death and blood of Jesus Christ was without purpose. It would mean Jesus threw away His life and the Word of God is all lies. But we know the Word of God is truth, and “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believes” (Romans 10:44For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (Romans 10:4)).
