Rev. 1:4
4
John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; (Revelation 1:4)
. In this verse we see the effects of the gospel on the heart, and the enjoyment of its privileges by John. He stands with his eye turned upwards, contemplating the glory of God and seeing in each of the three Persons of the Godhead severally grace and peace. This grace and peace come in varied forms, according to the varied circumstances of the people of God. Grace and peace would come differently to John at Patmos, and to Paul traveling about in busy service, and to you in your connection with things here-your own internal conflict with self and Satan, your want of faith, &c. Well, for each there is grace and peace, according to each individual need.
