Samuel did not yet know the Lord.
There was a time early in Samuel’s life when he didn’t know the Lord. But when the time was ready, the Lord introduced himself to Samuel and Samuel responded. From that day on Samuel spent his energy serving the Lord. There were many things to test Samuel’s faith and patience, but he was faithful to the Lord without reservation. When you get to know the Lord as He reveals Himself to you through the Scriptures, be a Samuel and follow the Lord faithfully. You’ll never regret it and there will be a reward for you when you get to heaven.
