Peter was one of the Lord’s closest disciples. Peter was always one of three chosen for special missions. He was forthright and was never afraid to offer comment or opinion. He was overconfident and had to learn the hard way that in our own boasting we can do nothing. Peter turned into a powerful preacher and many became Christians through his preaching. Peter spent most of his energy in preaching to and exhorting the Jews and Jewish believers. It is recorded in history that Peter was crucified upside down and that his wife was also martyred with him.
