• How different from what we have just been considering is the fortress of the man who, knowing not the name of the Lord, trusts in his wealth, fondly fancying, in his conceit, that he is forever secure. Riches soon vanish away, and leave him, who had made them his confidence, desolate and forsaken. How often did the Savior, when on earth, have to rebuke those who trusted in uncertain riches!
