Snake Snare

Listen from:
One sunny afternoon, I was out with my family and friends at a park in West Richland, Washington. We had gone there for a picnic, and we were coming back from a bike ride to the next park.
I was just riding along, not really paying attention to my surroundings. Suddenly, I hit a bump that almost made me go off the bike path! I looked back to see what it was, and my friend Cody yelled to me that I had just run over a dead bull snake! Yipes!
I was kind of freaked out after running over a snake, so I stopped my bike. Meanwhile, Cody wanted to make sure the snake was dead, so he ran over it again with his bike. But since he saw the snake and I didn’t, he stayed on the path.
Satan is just like that snake. He puts out decoys and snares in our Christian pathway so we will stumble off the path. He is the doer of evil deeds. A Bible verse says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:88Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)).
So keep your light in front of you or you’ll stray off the path. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105105NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)).
