1. Padre Dios, Te alabamos
Por Tu tan precioso amor;
“Génesis”, Te confesamos,
De abundancia de favor.
¡Oh qué amor Tuyo excelente
Que a Jesús diera en la cruz!
¡Oh qué gracia sorprendente:
Él dejó Tu hogar de luz!
2. Libres por Su sangre estamos,
Y esperando ir a Tu hogar;
En el yermo sustentados,
Nos amparas sin cesar;
Por Tu Espíritu enseñados,
(Que “arras” es del porvenir,)
Cada día así alentados,
Ya anhelamos Su venir.
3. Peregrinos sólo somos,
Ya que hogar no hay sin Jesús,
Cual cansados ¿estaremos
Al mirar Su rostro en luz?
¡No! Su grey ya redimida
Gozo espera, al consumar
Cristo en gloria Su venida;
Pronto oiremos... Su llamar.
Los pensamientos expresados en las estrofas del himno se hallan en las siguientes Escrituras y en muchas otras: Efesios 1:33Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (Ephesians 1:3); Juan 3:1616For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16); 2 Corintios 8:99For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9); Números 10:2929And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel. (Numbers 10:29); Deuteronomio 8:2-42And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. 3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. 4Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years. (Deuteronomy 8:2‑4); Juan 16:1313Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (John 16:13); Colosenses 1:1111Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; (Colossians 1:11); Hebreos 11:13-1413These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. (Hebrews 11:13‑14); 1 Pedro 1:88Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (1 Peter 1:8); 1 Tesalonicenses 4:1616For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
