Gaius mine host.
Gaius was a Christian from Corinth who had been baptized by the Apostle Paul. He is mentioned here as Paul’s host and the host of the whole church. Paul often mentioned individuals by name with a commendation of some kind. One of the characteristics that God views with pleasure is that of being hospitable. When we open our homes to other Christians, we can be assured that we are doing God’s service. At a men’s conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, last summer where almost 62,000 men came together to praise the Lord, several Christians in the city opened their homes for visitors to the conference to have a place to stay as all the motels were full. That’s being a Gaius.
