In the Midst

John 19:18¹⁸Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. (John 19:18)

IN the midst of thieves on Calvary,

Christ the Saviour bled,

Bore the storm of wrath and judgment,

In His people's stead.

John 20:19¹⁹Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. (John 20:19)

In the midst of His disciples,

Risen from the dead,

In the power of resurrection,

"Peace to you" He said.

Matt. 18:20²⁰For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20)

In the midst of those now gathered

To His precious name,

And to faith so real and present,

Evermore the same.

Rev. 5:6⁶And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)

In the midst, in scenes of glory,

As the Lamb once slain,

We ere long shall see Him coming

Over all to reign.
