• Ps. 110:1 gives us the answer to Christ having glorified God perfectly all through His earthly path, taking only that refreshment that came, as He passed along (v. 7). (“Hunt’s Sayings - 294” by R. Hunt)
• The last verse shows the perfection of Christ in this spirit of dependence on the way, the path in which we have to follow Him as walking in the new man; glad of the refreshments of God, but dependent in them and taking them as they are found, that is, as God Himself gives them in the way—the spirit of lowly dependence. • The closing verse tells us that when all other heads are judged, Christ will “lift up the head.” The One who was once the perfectly dependent Man, will alone be the exalted Head over all. He is the One who drank of the brook in the way. In the day of His humiliation, as the dependent Man, He partook of the mercies the Lord provided in the way. (“Psalm 110” by H. Smith)
