The Reformation of 1529 died. About the year 1827, a revival began again. Some people understood more Bible truth. Philadelphian Christians accept Jesus as the only authority and head of the church. The government or an organization is not their head. Philadelphia means “brotherly love,” and the door was opened for them to preach the gospel around the world. The Christians began to practice with love, truth and holiness, according to the teachings of the apostles in the New Testament. They were gathered together only in the name of the Lord Jesus. They did not deny Jesus by using other names. They were faithful to the Word of God in the middle of all the Christian confusion of so many church organizations.
Satan used other Christians to try and make these Philadelphian Christians think they were going to inherit the Jewish promises on earth, so they should practice like Jews. The little strength in these Christians is stronger than the deception of Satan. The Philadelphian Christian knows Jesus is coming soon to take the believers to His home in heaven before the tribulation comes upon the world.
Hold fast to the truth you practice. Be an overcomer until Jesus comes. Don’t give up one point of the truth you have learned. If you can do that, Jesus promises to write three names on you: the name of God, the name of the city of New Jerusalem, and the new name of the Lord Jesus. This shows your specialness to God. If you have ears to hear, it is important to practice your Christianity like they did in Philadelphia.
