1. ¡Fe salvadora!... tu don, nuestro Dios,
Fe que librónos de pena atroz;
Que aun cuando estábamos “muertos” en mal
—Su siervo— obrando Él en cada cual —
“Rico en misericordia”, ¡oh Dios!,
“Por gracia” Tú salvástenos.
2. ¡Fe verdadera!... hay que contender
“Eficazmente”, en nada ceder;
De salvación la verdad declarar
Que “una vez” Dios nos dio a guardar.
¡Fe verdadera, alúmbranos!;
Claro haznos siempre oír tu voz.
3. ¡Fe victoriosa!, que vence en redor
Al mundo, su odio, engaño y error;
Al reino gana, —justicia es su obrar—
Aun puede boca de león cerrar.
¡Fe victoriosa, esfuérzanos!
Siempre a seguir de Cristo en pos.
4. Fe anhelante! que espera a Jesús,
Firme y constante, alzando la cruz,
Que va creciendo en santa obra de ardor…
Cristo dará su premio en fulgor.
¡Fe salvadora!, ¡fe veraz!,
¡Fe victoriosa!... ¿el fin?: ¡solaz!
Los pensamientos expresados en las estrofas del himno se hallan en las siguientes Escrituras y en muchas otras: Efesios 2:88For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8); Judas 33Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 3); Proverbios 8:1-7; 11Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. 5O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. (Proverbs 8:1‑7) Juan 5:44For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. (John 5:4); Hebreos 11:3333Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, (Hebrews 11:33); 1 Tesalonicenses 1:9-109For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (1 Thessalonians 1:9‑10); Mateo 16:24-2524Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:24‑25); 1 Corintios 15:57-5857But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:57‑58); Hebreos 10:35; 4:935Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. (Hebrews 10:35)
9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (Hebrews 4:9)
