He was as really dead as we can be, has taken in grace our place under death, was a man as we are men (save sin) so truly that, if you deny this result for us, you deny the fact as to Him; and the object and foundation of faith itself fails. (1 Corinthians 15 by J.N. Darby)
Are not the wicked, then, to be raised? Unquestionably; but so special, is the resurrection here that they are not even named. It is the resurrection of life, and belongs only to those that have practiced good. (Notes on 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 by W. Kelly)

It is unfounded that the word for rank, means "company," "band," "regiment;" the context is decidedly adverse, whether "the end" be applied to the wicked dead, or to Christians uninstructed in the Lord’s second coming and kingdom. Most all of the versions seem to agree with the KJV in giving "order." Indeed, the way in which our Lord’s resurrection is introduced appears to me of itself to exclude such a translation; for His resurrection is the first step, which perfectly agrees with "order," but not with "company."

"The" is omitted in T. R. by mere carelessness.
