Produced by faith. Eph. 3:12¹²In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (Ephesians 3:12). 2 Tim. 1:12¹²For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. (2 Timothy 1:12). Heb. 10:22²²Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22).

Confirmed by love. 1 John 3:14, 19¹⁴We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. (1 John 3:14)
¹⁹And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. (1 John 3:19). 1 John 4:18¹⁸There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

Is the effect of righteousness. Isa. 32:17¹⁷And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. (Isaiah 32:17).

Is abundant in the understanding of the gospel. Col. 2:2²That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; (Colossians 2:2). 1 Thess. 1:5⁵For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. (1 Thessalonians 1:5).

SAINTS PRIVILEGED TO HAVE, OF

Their election. Psa. 4:3³But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him. (Psalm 4:3). 1 Thess. 1:4⁴Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. (1 Thessalonians 1:4).

Their redemption. Job 19:25²⁵For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: (Job 19:25).

Their adoption. Rom. 8:16¹⁶The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Romans 8:16). 1 John 3:2²Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2).

Their salvation. Isa. 12:2²Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2).

Eternal life. 1 John. 5:13.

The unalienable love of God. Rom. 8:38, 39³⁸For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38‑39).

Union with God and Christ. 1 Cor. 6:15¹⁵Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. (1 Corinthians 6:15). 2 Cor. 13:5⁵Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Corinthians 13:5). Eph. 5:30³⁰For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. (Ephesians 5:30). 1 John. 2:5. 1 John. 4:13.

Peace with God by Christ. Rom. 5:1¹Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Romans 5:1).

Preservation. Psa. 3:6, 8⁶I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. (Psalm 3:6)
⁸Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. (Psalm 3:8). Psa. 27:3-5³Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. ⁴One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. ⁵For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. (Psalm 27:3‑5). Psa. 46:1-3¹<<To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.>> God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ²Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; ³Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. (Psalm 46:1‑3).

Answers to prayer. 1 John. 3:22. 1 John. 5:14, 15.

Continuance in grace. Phi. 1:6.

Comfort in affliction. Psa. 73:26²⁶My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. (Psalm 73:26). Luke 4:18, 19¹⁸The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18‑19). 2 Cor. 4:8-10, 16-18⁸We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; ¹⁰Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. (2 Corinthians 4:8‑10)
¹⁶For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. ¹⁷For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; ¹⁸While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16‑18)

Support in death. Psa. 23:4⁴Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4).

A glorious resurrection. Job 19:26²⁶And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: (Job 19:26). Psa. 17:15¹⁵As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. (Psalm 17:15). Phi. 3:21. 1 John. 3:2.

A kingdom. Heb. 12:28²⁸Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: (Hebrews 12:28). Rev. 5:10¹⁰And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:10).

A crown. 2 Tim. 4:7, 8⁷I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: ⁸Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7‑8). Jas. 1:12¹²Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12).

Give diligence to attain to. 2 Pet. 1: 10, 11.

Strive to maintain. Heb. 3:14, 18¹⁴For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; (Hebrews 3:14)
¹⁸And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? (Hebrews 3:18).

Confident hope in God restores. Psa. 42:11¹¹Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. (Psalm 42:11).

Exemplified. David, Psa. 23:4⁴Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4). Psa. 73:24-26²⁴Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. ²⁵Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. ²⁶My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. (Psalm 73:24‑26). Paul, 2 Tim. 1:12¹²For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. (2 Timothy 1:12). 2 Tim. 4:18¹⁸And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (2 Timothy 4:18).
