the gospel.
He is the God of peace. Peace, the peace of Jesus, fills the heart. The feet are shod with it; we walk in the spirit of peace. (Ephesians 6 by J.N. Darby)
The path of peace is found in righteousness. If I have a bad conscience, I am vexed with myself, I grow angry with others. When the heart is at peace with God and has nothing to reproach itself with, when the will is held in check, peace reigns in the soul....Peace, the peace of Jesus, fills the heart. The feet are shod with it; we walk in the spirit of peace. (Ephesians 6 by J.N. Darby)
"Feet shod." Where there is laxity, the conscience gets bad; and the result is trouble, and making trouble; where truth governs, the conscience is kept bright, and, happy ourselves, we shed happiness around us. (Remarks on Ephesians 6:13-17 by W. Kelly)
“The gospel of peace” carries us into rest with God, as it is said, “We which have believed, do enter into rest,” we are “brought to God.” Sin cannot enter there. When there, we are undisturbed by the conscience of sin; there is “no more conscience of sin.” (The Whole Armor of God: Part 1)
