Turn with me to Exodus Chapter 29.
In Exodus chapter 29, we have the consecration of Aaron and his sons.
And I wanna notice just one little thing that really struck me recently, and I think it is in keeping.
Her brother just talked about a living sacrifice and.
Couple nights ago.
We were encouraged about peace offering.
In Exodus chapter 29, we have 3 offerings or three sacrifices that are mentioned here and I wanna wanna read it briefly and just share something that really jumped out at me when we read when we read this recently.
Exodus 29 verse one. And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto.
Them to hallow, them to minister unto me. And the priest's office take one young Rolex and two Rams without blemish.
We're gonna skip down to verse 10 and thou shalt cause a Bullock to be brought before the Tabernacle of the congregation.
And Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the Bullock, and thou shalt kill the Bullock before the Lord by the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation. And thou shalt take of the blood of the Bullock, and put it on the horns of the altar with a finger, and pour all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.
Thou shalt take all the fat that covereth thee inwards, and the call that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar. But the flesh of the Bullock, and his skin and his tongue, thou shalt burn with fire. Without the camp. It is a sin offering.
And thou shalt also take one ram, And Aaron and his son shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. And thou shalt slay the ram. And thou shalt take the blood, and sprinkle it around about upon the altar. And thou shalt count and cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him and his legs, and put them into his pieces and unto his head. And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar. It is.
A burnt offering unto the Lord. It is a sweet saver, an offering made by fire unto the Lord. And thou shalt take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
And thou shalt kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it on the tip of the right ear ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot.
And sprinkle the blood round about, upon the altar round about, and thou shalt take the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle, sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him. And he shall be hallowed in his in his garments, and his sons, and his son's garments with him.
And thou shalt take of the ram the fat, and the the rump, and the fat, and they cover it the inwards, and the call above the liver and the two kidneys.
And the fact that is upon them, and the right shoulder of it, for for is a ram of consecration.
And so on.
25 And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar, for it burnt offering for a sweet savour before the Lord. It is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
Verse 29 And it shall be Aaron and his sons by statute forever from the children of Israel, for it is and heave offering, and it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel, of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heave offerings unto the Lord.
These three offerings that we have here, or three sacrifices in order.
00:05:02
For the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offering.
And the thing that really struck me this time when I read through this, and I've read this passage many times before.
But it really struck me this time.
Because, brethren, these three offerings should be an integral, daily part of our lives.
But the interesting thing to me was the very specific language that Aaron and his sons were to put their hand on the head of the offering as it was killed.
As many of you know, we have animals.
And if you have animals?
There's going to come a time when you have to.
Kill an animal and it's not a fun process.
I've had a lamb.
That was standing between my legs.
That died by my actions.
And it really makes you pause and think.
Why do I share that? It's not to gross you guys out.
But these offerings should mean something very specific, specific to each one of us, the sin offering.
Is a picture.
Of the Lord Jesus going into death for us. And I believe Aaron and his sons had to own their part in that offering by putting their hands on the head of that animal as it was dying, as it was being flamed.
And if there's anyone here that has not owned that they're a center before, holy righteous God, it is of utmost importance to you.
You must put your hand in a figurative way on the head of that offering on the Lord Jesus, and make it your own.
But, brethren, we sin.
Repeatedly.
And so I believe that we in a sense, need to own our part in that on a daily basis, the apostle John said.
That if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And daily we need to go to this precious word and we need to get on our knees and we need to confess the sin that is in our lives. And it may be something.
That we're not sensitive to.
He that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
That smites me. That kills me.
Daily we need to eat the sin offering. We need to make it part of us.
We need to recognize our part in that. Well, what about the burnt offering?
Well, the burnt offering.
And I want to encourage you children, your young people.
To look into the offerings and and find out what it means. They're so beautiful, such wonderful pictures that the burnt offering is, is looking at the Lord Jesus and all of his perfection before God.
And recognizing that perfection.
Last night we heard about four tenants of Salvation.
And we have been given the righteousness of Christ.
I think that's a little portion of that, that burnt offering. He was absolutely perfect and we need to have a part in that as well.
Aaron and his sons, they had to take their hand again and put it on the head of that ram as it died.
00:10:04
And you and I on a daily basis need to look up to our Lord Jesus, our Savior, our burnt offering.
And gaze on his beauty, his perfection, His Holiness.
And realize that our standing is in him, our position is in Him, Everything that we have is in Him.
And then we have the peace offering.
And I believe our brothers already brought out that the peace offering is really.
Communion.
Common thoughts with God.
About who we are and about his son and who his son is. And again, Aaron and his sons, they had to take their hand, and they had to put their hand on the head of that ram as it was sacrificed, as it died. And again.
You and I daily need to own that as as being for us. It's not for somebody else. And that's really the burden on my heart tonight.
Dear young people, dear children, this needs to be immensely personal between you and the Lord. You have to put your hand on the head of that offering. You need to acknowledge and recognize.
Your part in that offering.
And there's immense beauty and privilege.
Associated with that.
We won't take the time to go into it, but the result of these three offerings.
Were that Aaron and his sons were consecrated, they were set aside, they were.
Made holy.
Not because of something that they had done.
Because it it was a picture that looked forward to Christ and then they were able to enter into service.
For the Lord, and if you and I want to be of service to the Lord, we need to put our hand on the head of the offering and make it part of us. Acknowledge our part in it.
