You know Brother Tim at the end of near the end of what he was Speaking of.
Talked about taking the opportunity to share these things that we enjoy with each other.
And that made me think of the passage in Nehemiah.
So I read a couple of verses in Nehemiah chapter 8.
This was shortly after the wall was completed and they were coming together to.
To read the law and to I believe this is one of the feasts.
Chapter 8. And all the people gathered themselves together with one man into the street that was before the Watergate. And they spake unto Ezra the scribe, to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel. And As for the priest, brought the law before the congregation, both of men and women.
And all that could hear with understanding upon the first day of the 7th month. And he read therein before the street.
That was before the Watergate, from the morning until midday, before the men and the women and those that could understand, and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the Book of the Law, and, as with the scribes, stood upon a pulpit of wood which they had made for the purpose and beside him.
Stood Metathiya and Shima and Ananiah and Raja and Hilkiah and Messiah on his right hand, and on his left hand Podaya and Michelle and Nokia and Hashem and Hashbad Vadana and Zechariah and Michelin. And as we opened the book in the sight of all the people, For he was above all the people, and when he opened it, all the people stood up.
And Ezra blessed the Lord the great God, and all the people answered, Amen, Amen with lifting up their hands.
And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
Also Joshua and Benai and Shirabaya, Jaimin, Akab, Shabathai, Hudaija, Messiah, Kilaita, Azariah, Josebed, Hena, Pelaya and Levites caused the people to understand the law and the people stood in their place. So they read in the book of the Law of God distinctly and gave the sense and caused them to understand the reading.
And Nehemiah, which is the truth to Shaffer, and as were the priest described in the lyrics that taught the people, fit into all the people.
This day is holy unto the Lord your God. Mourn not, nor weep for. All the people wept when they heard the words of the law. Then he said unto them, Go your way.
And drink the sweet, and send portions into them, for whom nothing is prepared. For is holy unto your unto our Lord. Neither be ye sorry, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
So the Levites stealed all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy, neither be ye grieved. And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great work, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
You know we've had.
A week that sounds a lot like that we have the word of God opened. It was expounded and given this week. They were given the sense of, of it and we were the glory of the Lord and his, his, uh, his beauty was brought before us, before us.
And these people were exhorted to go their way and to take portions to those that were not there, those portions to those that did not have anything prepared.
And you know, we, we mentioned in the reading this morning how a lot of times the challenge is when you go back to your, your daily life, your normal life, to take these things and to live in them and to apply them to your life.
But I think we can go even beyond that.
It's not just the responsibility to apply these things to our own life.
But to take a portion back to others?
We all come from somewhere, we all have people at home that could not come here.
That could use the encouragement.
And it may be in a public setting, or it may be one-on-one and maybe a couple of young people talking together.
You know, I still remember.
I was at a conference.
I was pretty young. I think it was the first time I was at a conference and I did not stay with my parents. I was in the house, bunch of boys down in the basement of a house.
00:05:05
And I was surprised. I was almost shocked we were down there.
There was a chin up bar, you know, a bunch of guys together to see who could do the most chin ups. Can you chin up with someone hanging off your legs, you know?
But then someone started talking about the things of God. There's no adults there. Oldest was probably in his mid teens.
I still remember they were talking about.
The utterances of the Lord on the cross. There's seven of them.
I think it was probably following up on something that was said earlier in the day in the conference, but it was so shocking to me.
Because these were young people.
And they were interested in talking about the things of God themselves with each other.
You know if parents and his older brother and we.
We try to present the Lord to you. We present the word of God to you.
But really, God has also given you each other.
And.
It's your responsibility too, to lift up each other and probably that talks about iron sharpeneth iron.
So.
Yes, it's important to take this and apply it in our own lives, but let's be exercised as well.
To take this back and share it with others and encourage them.
