Job 4:7‑11• ⁷Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
⁸Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
⁹By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.
¹⁰The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
¹¹The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad. (Job 4:7‑11)

Job 5:1‑5• ¹Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
²For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
³I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
⁴His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.
⁵Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance. (Job 5:1‑5)

Job 8:3‑4• ³Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
⁴If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression; (Job 8:3‑4)

Job 18:5‑21• ⁵Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
⁶The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.
⁷The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
⁸For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.
⁹The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.
¹⁰The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
¹¹Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.
¹²His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.
¹³It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.
¹⁴His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
¹⁵It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
¹⁶His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
¹⁷His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
¹⁸He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
¹⁹He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
²⁰They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.
²¹Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God. (Job 18:5‑21)

Job 21:27‑34• ²⁷Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
²⁸For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
²⁹Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
³⁰That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
³¹Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
³²Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
³³The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
³⁴How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood? (Job 21:27‑34)

Job 22:6‑30• ⁶For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
⁷Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
⁸But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honorable man dwelt in it.
⁹Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
¹⁰Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
¹¹Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
¹²Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
¹³And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
¹⁴Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
¹⁵Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
¹⁶Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
¹⁷Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
¹⁸Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
¹⁹The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
²⁰Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
²¹Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
²²Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
²³If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
²⁴Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
²⁵Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
²⁶For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
²⁷Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
²⁸Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
²⁹When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
³⁰He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands. (Job 22:6‑30)
