Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. (1 Corinthians 10:21)
, and in a special connection. All sorts of thoughts have been connected with these words, but all that we can gather from this Scripture is that the table (the Supper) is the Lord’s (as Master), not ours, and that we cannot mix this up with what is contrary to Him, lest we provoke Him to jealousy.
