Signifies the new nature, but not only the new nature in the abstract, but in the activity of its life and actions. Hence every child of God may be described as a person who has put on the new man, as in
Eph. 4:24

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)
, or as being himself a new man as in
1 John 3:9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)
