Near to Himself

"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are MADE NIGH, by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:1313But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)).
"Come near to Me," what words of sweetness these;
Jesus invites, His loving heart to please;
"Come unto Me"—come boldly, without fear.
'Tis His delight to have His people near.
We who were once afar off, straying, lost,
Jesus redeemed from sin at such a cost!
With His own blood, He dearly bought His bride,
To bring her near—to have her at His side,
Love was the source of that eternal plan,
That brought Him down in blessing unto man;
'Twas matchless love, and rich, exhaustless grace,
Led Him to come and take the sinner's place.
Clothed in His robe of righteousness, we own,
In the Beloved, complete, through grace alone;
Our standing now before the throne on High,
Washed in His blood, redeemed, we are made nigh.
"Let us draw near," is now by grace our right,
Near to that One in whom our souls delight;
Singing the praises of the Lamb who died—
Near to His loving heart would we abide.
Near to Himself, what comfort, solace, rest!
Fellowship sweet in leaning on His breast;
Near to Himself, there's endless peace and joy,
Peace that the world can nevermore destroy.
Near to Himself, our precious portion now,
Our hearts to Him in praise and worship bow:
Through endless ages near His loving heart,
Sharing His glory soon will be our part.
"Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee, that he may dwell in Thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, even of Thy holy temple" (Psalm 65:44Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. (Psalm 65:4)).
