“For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up TOGETHER WITH THEM in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-1816For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16‑18)). Read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-1813But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13‑18).
For loved ones who have gone before,
Who now in Jesus sleep;
As others, e'en, who have no hope,
O sorrow not, nor weep.
When Jesus comes to call His own
To meet Him in the air;
The dear ones who in Jesus sleep
Will God bring with Him there.
“Together with them" in the clouds
We'll meet our blessed Lord,
And dwell with Him forevermore,
According to His Word.
To be forever with the Lord—
What comfort this doth bring!
“O grave where is thy victory?”
“O death where is thy sting?”
“Let not your heart be troubled, then,”
We hear the Savior say,
“I will prepare a place for you,
And come again some day.”
Together in the Father's house
In mansions bright and fair,
We'll dwell with Him forevermore
And all His glory share.
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him" (1 Thessalonians 4:1414For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. (1 Thessalonians 4:14)).
“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:5757But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)).
