 It will be observed that there is no conflict with almighty power. Christ “takes” these two impious instruments of Satan, and at once executes judgment, casting them alive into hell.  The false prophet (v. 20) is the second beast of Rev. 13:12. He has the form of the power of Christ, and the voice of Satan. He performs prodigies. (Compare Rev. 19:20 with Rev. 13:12-14.) The reading of Erasmus and so of the T. R. is meta toutou (with him) which is not so good Greek as met autou, but makes no sensible difference in English.

It does not seem correct to say, "that had received" etc. as with the Revisers as well as the KJV. The deceiving was not after, but before, they received the mark of the beast.
