It is supposedly the place that afterward belonged to Reuben, under the name of Kirjathaim (Num. 32:37³⁷And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim, (Numbers 32:37); Josh. 13:19¹⁹And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar in the mount of the valley, (Joshua 13:19)).
