Asa.

All is blessing for Asa in the first part of his reign — and we shall see the cause for this — but in 2 Chron. 16 we shall also find the cause of his decline. (Asa -Rest and Strength: 2 Chronicles 14-16 by H.L. Rossier)
What rest there is in separation from evil and in the worship of the holy God, the true God! The Word insists on this point here: "In his days the land was quiet ten years" (2 Chron. 14:1). "The kingdom was quiet before him" (2 Chron. 14:5). "The land had rest... Jehovah had given him rest" (2 Chron. 14:6). "Jehovah... has given us rest on every side" (2 Chron. 14:7).
