 This is coincident with the great white throne, and the heaven and the earth fleeing away, as spoken of in the 20th chapter of the Revelation. You have the effect of this mighty conflagration given you in Revelation, whereas you have what produces that effect given you by the Apostle Peter here.  The Lord will come when men do not expect Him, as a thief in the night, and thus usher in His day. That “day” will comprise a thousand years as other Scriptures show.
