Faith, as shown in Abraham, had no interest in the world. He wanted to be where God wanted him to be. But Lot, who never really gave up the world, was soon tempted to go back. Over a period of time he did. Even though deep in his heart there was a love for God, the pull of the world was too strong and he went back into the world. He even became a city official, but his family was a mess. Compromise never works.
