4{i}Moses commanded us a law,{HR}The inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.{HR}{/i}
5{i}And he was king in Jeshurun,{HR}When the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together{/i}.
6Let Reuben live and not die, and his men be few .
7And this is for Judah; and he said,{HR}Hear, O Jehovah, the voice of Judah,{HR}And bring him unto his people:{HR}Let his hands be numerous for him,{HR}And be thou an help from his adversaries.
8And of Levi he said,{HR}Thy Thummim and thy Urim are for thy holy one,{HR}Whom thou didst prove at Massah,{HR}With whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
9Who said of his father and of his mother,{HR}I have not seen him;{HR}Neither did he acknowledge his brethren,{HR}Nor know his own children;{HR}For they kept thy word,{HR}And guarded thy covenant.
10They shall teach thy judgments to Jacob,{HR}And thy law to Israel:{HR}They shall put incense before thee,{HR}And whole burnt-offering upon thine altar .
11Bless, Jehovah, his force, and accept the work of his hands:{HR}Strike through the loins of those that rise up against him,{HR}And of those that hate him, that they rise not again.
12Of Benjamin he said,{HR}The beloved of Jehovah shall dwell in safety by him;{HR}He shall harbour him all the day,{HR}And he shall dwell between his shoulders.

Josh. 13:1‑21:45• 1{i}And Joshua was old, advanced in age, and Jehovah said to him{/i}, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2{i}This is the land that yet remaineth:{/i} all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
3from Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:
4from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:
5and the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
6All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-maim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
7Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
8{i}with him the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them:{/i}
9{i}from Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plateau of Medeba to Dibon,{/i}
10{i}and all the cities of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon;{/i}
11{i}and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and the whole of Bashan to Salcah;{/i}
12{i}all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, who remained of the residue of the giants; and Moses smote them and dispossessed them.{/i}
13{i}But the children of Israel did not dispossess the Geshurites nor the Maachathites; but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites to this day.{/i}
14{i}Only to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance: the offerings by fire of Jehovah the God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to them.{/i}
15{i}And Moses gave a portion to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.{/i}
16{i}And their territory was from Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plateau by Medeba;{/i}
17{i}Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plateau, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-meon,{/i}
18{i}And Jahzah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,{/i}
19{i}and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mountain of the vale,{/i}
20{i}and Beth-Peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;{/i}
21{i}all the cities of the plateau, and the whole kingdom of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses smote, him and the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the chiefs of Sihon dwelling in the land.{/i}
22{i}And Balaam the son of Beor, the diviner, did the children of Israel kill with the sword among them that were slain by them.{/i}
23{i}And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and its border. This is the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.{/i}
24{i}And Moses gave a portion to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad according to their families.{/i}
25{i}And their territory was Jaazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer which is before Rabbah;{/i}
26{i}and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;{/i}
27{i}and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Jordan and its border, as far as the edge of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.{/i}
28{i}This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.{/i}
29{i}And Moses gave a portion to half the tribe of Manasseh; and for half the tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families:{/i}
30{i}their territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.{/i}

32{i}This is that which Moses allotted for inheritance in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan of Jericho, eastward.{/i}
33{i}But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance: Jehovah the God of Israel is their inheritance, as he said to them.{/i}
1{i}And this is what the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, allotted for inheritance to them:{/i}
2{i}their inheritance was by lot, as Jehovah had commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.{/i}
3{i}For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe beyond the Jordan, but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.{/i}
4{i}For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave no part to the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.{/i}
5{i}As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.{/i}
6{i}Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, Thou knowest the word that Jehovah spoke to Moses the man of God, concerning me and thee, in Kadesh-barnea.{/i}
7{i}Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me from Kadesh-barnea to search out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.{/i}
8{i}And my brethren that had gone up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Jehovah my God.{/i}
9{i}And Moses swore on that day, saying, The land whereon thy feet have trodden shall assuredly be thine inheritance, and thy children's forever! for thou hast wholly followed Jehovah my God.{/i}
10{i}And now behold, Jehovah has kept me alive, as he said, these forty-five years, since Jehovah spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.{/i}
11{i}I am still this day strong, as in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out and to come in.{/i}
12{i}And now give me this mountain, of which Jehovah spoke in that day{/i}; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be Jehovah will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as Jehovah said.
13And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14{i}Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed Jehovah the God of Israel.{/i}
15{i}Now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-Arba; the great man among the Anakim{/i}. And the land had rest from, war.
1{i}And the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was: to the border of Edom, the wilderness of Zin, southward, in the extreme south.{/i}
2{i}And their southern border was from the end of the salt sea, from the tongue that turns southward;{/i}
3{i}and it went out south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed on to Zin, and went up on the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed to Hezron, and went up toward Addar, and turned toward Karkaah,{/i}
4{i}and passed on to Azmon, and went out by the torrent of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. That shall be your border southward.{/i}
5{i}—And the eastern border was the salt sea as far as the end of the Jordan. —And the border on the north side was from the tongue of the salt sea, at the end of the Jordan;{/i}
6{i}and the border went up toward Beth-hoglah, and passed north of Beth-Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben;{/i}
7{i}and the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and turned northward to Gilgal, which is opposite to the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the torrent; and the border passed to the waters of En-shemesh, and ended at En-rogel;{/i}
8{i}and the border went up to the valley of the son of Hinnom, toward the south side of the Jebusite, that is, Jerusalem; and the border went up to the top of the mountain that is before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim northward;{/i}
9{i}and the border reached along from the top of the mountain toward the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out toward the cities of mount Ephron; and the border reached along to Baalah, that is, Kirjath-jearim;{/i}
10{i}and the border turned from Baalah westwards toward mount Seir, and passed toward the side of Har-jearim, that is, Chesalon, northwards, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed Timnah.{/i}
11{i}And the border went out to the side of Ekron northwards, and the border reached along toward Shicron, and passed mount Baalah, and went toward Jabneel; and the border ended at the sea.{/i}
12{i}—And the west border is the great sea and its coast. This is the border of the children of Judah round about, according to their families.{/i}
13{i}And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, the city of Arba, the father of Anak, that is, Hebron.{/i}
14{i}And thence Caleb dispossessed the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, who were born of Anak.{/i}
15{i}And from there he went up against the inhabitants of Debir; now the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.{/i}
16{i}And Caleb said, He that smites Kirjath-sepher and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.{/i}
17{i}And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.{/i}
18{i}And it came to pass as she came, that she urged him to ask of her father a field; and she sprang down from the ass. And Caleb said to her, What wouldest thou?{/i}
19{i}And she said, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a southern land; give me also springs of water. Then he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.{/i}
20{i}This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.{/i}
21{i}The cities at the extremity of the tribe of the children of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the south, were: Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,{/i}
22{i}and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,{/i}
23{i}and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Jithnan,{/i}
24{i}Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,{/i}
25{i}and Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-Hezron, that is Hazor,{/i}
26{i}Amam, and Shema, and Molada,{/i}
27{i}and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-Pelet,{/i}
28{i}and Hazar-Shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;{/i}
29{i}Baalah, and Ijim, and Ezem,{/i}
30{i}and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,{/i}
31{i}and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansanna,{/i}
32{i}and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities twenty-nine, and their hamlets.{/i}
33{i}—In the lowland: Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,{/i}
34{i}and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah and Enam,{/i}
35{i}Jarmuth and Adullam, Sochoh and Azekah,{/i}
36{i}and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim: fourteen cities and their hamlets.{/i}
37{i}Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-Gad,{/i}
38{i}and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,{/i}
39{i}Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,{/i}
40{i}and Cabbon, and Lahmas, and Chithlish,{/i}
41{i}and Gederoth, Beth-Dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah: sixteen cities and their hamlets.{/i}
42{i}Libna, and Ether, and Ashan,{/i}
43{i}and Jiphthah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,{/i}
44{i}and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah: nine cities and their hamlets.{/i}
45{i}Ekron and its dependent villages and its hamlets.{/i}
46{i}From Ekron and westward all that are by the side of Ashdod, and their hamlets.{/i}
47{i}Ashdod, its dependent villages and its hamlets; Gazah, its dependent villages and its hamlets, as far as the torrent of Egypt, and the great sea and its coast.{/i}
48{i}—And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Sochoh,{/i}
49{i}and Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, that is, Debir,{/i}
50{i}and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,{/i}
51{i}and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh: eleven cities and their hamlets.{/i}
52{i}Arab, and Dumah, and Eshan,{/i}
53{i}and Janum, and Beth-Tappuah, and Aphekah,{/i}
54{i}and Humtah, and Kirjath-Arba, that is, Hebron, and Zior: nine cities and their hamlets.{/i}
55{i}Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Jutah,{/i}
56{i}and Jizreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,{/i}
57{i}Kain, Gibeah and Timnah: ten cities and their hamlets.{/i}
58{i}Halhul, Beth-Zur, and Gedor,{/i}
59{i}and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon: six cities and their hamlets.{/i}
60{i}Kirjath-Baal, that is, Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah: two cities and their hamlets.{/i}
61{i}—In the wilderness: Beth-Arabah, Middin, and Secacah,{/i}
62{i}and Nibshan, and Ir-Hammelah, and En-gedi: six cities and their hamlets.{/i}
63{i}But as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not dispossess them; and the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.{/i}
1{i}And the lot came forth for the children of Joseph from the Jordan of Jericho as far as the waters of Jericho eastwards, to the wilderness which goes up from Jericho to the hill-country of Bethel.{/i}
2{i}And the border went from Bethel to Luz, and passed to the border of the Archites to Ataroth,{/i}
3{i}and went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, as far as the border of the lower Beth-horon, and to Gezer; and ended at the sea.{/i}
4{i}And the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.{/i}
5{i}And the border of the children of Ephraim was according to their families; the border of their inheritance eastwards was Ataroth-Addar as far as the upper Beth-horon;{/i}
6{i}and the border went forth westwards to Micmethath on the north; and the border turned eastwards to Taanath-Shiloh, and passed by it eastwards to Janohah,{/i}
7{i}and went down from Janohah to Ataroth and Naarath, and touched upon Jericho, and went out to the Jordan.{/i}
8{i}From Tappuah the border went westwards to the torrent Kanah, and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families,{/i}
9{i}with the cities that were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities and their hamlets.{/i}
10{i}But they did not dispossess the Canaanites that dwelt at Gezer; and the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and serve under tribute.{/i}
1{i}And the lot came to the tribe of Manasseh (for he was the firstborn of Joseph), to Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, for he was a man of war, and he had Gilead and Bashan.{/i}
2{i}There was also a portion for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these are the children of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the males, according to their families.{/i}
3{i}And Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.{/i}
4{i}And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. And he gave them according to the commandment of Jehovah an inheritance among the brethren of their father.{/i}
5{i}And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which are beyond the Jordan.{/i}
6{i}For the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance among his sons; and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.{/i}
7{i}And the territory of Manasseh was from Asher to Micmethath, which is before Shechem, and the border went on the right hand toward the inhabitants of En-Tappuah.{/i}
8{i}Manasseh had the land of Tappuah; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.{/i}
9{i}And the border descended to the torrent Kanah, south of the torrent. These cities were Ephraim's among the cities of Manasseh. And the territory of Manasseh was on the north side of the torrent, and ended at the sea.{/i}
10{i}Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea was his border. And they touched upon Asher on the north, and upon Issachar on the east.{/i}
11{i}And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and its dependent villages, and Ibleam and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Dor and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of En-Dor and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its dependent villages, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its dependent villages, the three hilly regions.{/i}
12{i}But the children of Manasseh could not dispossess the inhabitants of those cities; and the Canaanites would dwell in that land.{/i}
13And it came to pass, when the Israelites were waxing strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
14{i}And the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying{/i}, Why hast thou given me one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as Jehovah hath blessed me hitherto?
15{i}And Joshua said unto them, If thou art a great people, then get thee up to the wood, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if the hill-country of Ephraim is too narrow for thee.{/i}
16{i}And the children of Joseph said, The hill-country will not be enough for us; and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, those that are of Beth-shean and its dependent villages, and those that are in the valley of Jizreel.{/i}
17{i}And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying{/i}, Thou art a great people, and hast great power; thou shalt not have one lot only:
18but the mountain shall be thine, {i}as it is a wood, thou shalt cut it down, and its outgoings shall be thine; for thou shalt dispossess the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots; for they are powerful.{/i}
1{i}And the whole assembly of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them.{/i}
2{i}And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not been distributed to them.{/i}
3And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Jehovah God of your fathers hath given you?
4Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
5And they shall divide into seven parts; Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
6{i}And{/i} ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God.
7But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them.
8{i}And the men arose and went away. And Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah in Shiloh.{/i}
9{i}And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions, in a book, and they came to Joshua, to the camp at Shiloh.{/i}
10And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Jehovah: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.
11{i}And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families. And the territory of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.{/i}
12{i}And their border on the north side was from the Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north, and went up to the mountain westward; and ended at the wilderness of Beth-Aven;{/i}
13{i}and the border passed on from thence toward Luz, to the south side of Luz, which is Bethel: and the border went down to Ataroth-Addar, near the hill that is on the south of the lower Beth-horon.{/i}
14{i}—And the border reached along and turned on the west side, southward from the hill that is before Beth-horon southward; and ended at Kirjath-Baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah: this is the west side.{/i}
15{i}—And the south side was from the extreme end of Kirjath-jearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.{/i}
16{i}And the border went down to the end of the mountain that is before the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the valley of Rephaim on the north, and went down the valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite on the south, and went down to En-rogel;{/i}
17{i}and it reached along on the north, and went forth to En-shemesh, and went forth towards Geliloth, which is opposite to the ascent of Adummim, and went down to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben,{/i}
18{i}and passed along towards the side opposite to Arabah northwards, and went down to Arabah;{/i}
19{i}and the border passed on to the side of Beth-hoglah on the north, and the border ended at the tongue of the salt sea northward, at the south end of the Jordan: this is the southern border.{/i}
20{i}—And the Jordan borders it on the east side. —This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, according to its borders round about, according to their families.{/i}
21{i}And the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were: Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and Emek-Keziz,{/i}
22{i}and Beth-Arabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,{/i}
23{i}and Avvim, and Parah, and Ophrah,{/i}
24{i}and Chephar-haammonai, and Ophni, and Geba: twelve cities and their hamlets;{/i}
25{i}Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,{/i}
26{i}and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,{/i}
27{i}and Rekem, and Jirpeel, and Tharalah,{/i}
28{i}and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, that is, Jerusalem, Gibeah, Kirjath: fourteen cities and their hamlets. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.{/i}
1{i}And the second lot came forth to Simeon, for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.{/i}
2{i}And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,{/i}
3{i}and Hazar-Shual, and Balah, and Ezem,{/i}
4{i}and Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,{/i}
5{i}and Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah,{/i}
6{i}and Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities and their hamlets;{/i}
7{i}Ain, Rimmon, and Ether, and Ashan: four cities and their hamlets;{/i}
8{i}and all the hamlets that are round these cities to Baalath-beer, that is Ramah of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.{/i}
9{i}Out of the lot of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon; for the portion of the children of Judah was too great for them, and the children of Simeon inherited within their inheritance.{/i}
10{i}And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families. And the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid;{/i}
11{i}and their border went up westwards, and to Marealah, and reached to Dabbesheth, and reached to the torrent that is before Jokneam;{/i}
12{i}and turned from Sarid eastward, toward the sun-rising, to the border of Chisloth-Tabor, and went out to Dabrath, and went up to Japhia;{/i}
13{i}and from thence it passed eastward toward the sun-rising to Gath-Hepher, to Eth-kazin, and went out to Rimmon which reaches to Neah;{/i}
14{i}and the border turned round it northwards to Hannathon: and ended in the valley of Jiphthah-el; ...{/i}
15{i}and Kattath, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Jidalah, and Beth-lehem: twelve cities and their hamlets.{/i}
16{i}This was the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.{/i}
17{i}The fourth lot came forth to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.{/i}
18{i}And their territory was toward Jizreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,{/i}
19{i}and Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath,{/i}
20{i}and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Ebez,{/i}
21{i}and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;{/i}
22{i}and the border reached to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and their border ended at the Jordan: sixteen cities and their hamlets.{/i}
23{i}This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.{/i}
24{i}And the fifth lot came forth for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.{/i}
25{i}And their territory was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Acshaph,{/i}
26{i}and Allammelech, and Amead, and Mishal; and the border reached to Carmel westwards, and to Shihor-libnath,{/i}
27{i}and turned towards the sun-rising to Beth-Dagon, and reached to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthah-el northward to Beth-emek and Neiel, and went out to Cabul on the left,{/i}
28{i}and Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, as far as great Zidon;{/i}
29{i}and the border turned to Ramah, and as far as the fortified city of Tyre; and the border turned to Hosah; and ended at the sea by the tract of country of Achzib;{/i}
30{i}and Ummah, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty-two cities and their hamlets.{/i}
31{i}This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.{/i}
32{i}The sixth lot came forth to the children of Naphtali, for the children of Naphtali according to their families.{/i}
33{i}And their border was from Heleph, from the oak of Zaanannim; and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum; and ended at the Jordan;{/i}
34{i}and the border turned westwards to Aznoth-Tabor, and went out from thence to Hukkok, and reached to Zebulun on the south, and reached to Asher on the west, and to Judah upon Jordan towards the sun-rising.{/i}
35{i}And the fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,{/i}
36{i}and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,{/i}
37{i}and Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-Hazor,{/i}
38{i}and Jiron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh: nineteen cities and their hamlets.{/i}
39{i}This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.{/i}
40{i}The seventh lot came forth for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.{/i}
41{i}And the territory of their inheritance was Zoreah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh,{/i}
42{i}and Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jithlah,{/i}
43{i}and Elon, and Timnathah, and Ekron,{/i}
44{i}and El-tekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,{/i}
45{i}and Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gath-Rimmon,{/i}
46{i}and Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border over against Japho.{/i}
47{i}And the border of the children of Dan ended with these; and the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and took possession of it, and dwelt in it, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.{/i}
48{i}This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.{/i}
49{i}And they ended dividing the land for inheritance according to its borders. And the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them.{/i}
50According to the word of Jehovah they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnath-serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
51{i}These were the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Shiloh before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And they ended dividing the land.{/i}
1{i}And Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying,{/i}
2{i}Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for yourselves the cities of refuge, whereof I spoke unto you through Moses,{/i}
3{i}that the slayer who unwittingly without intent smiteth a mortally may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood{/i}.
4And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
5And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
6And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
7{i}And they hallowed Kedesh in Galilee in the hill-country of Naphtali, and Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Kirjath-Arba, that is, Hebron, in the hill-country of Judah.{/i}
8{i}And beyond the Jordan from Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness, in the plateau, out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan of the tribe of Manasseh.{/i}

Ezek. 48:1‑35• 1Now these [are] the names of the tribes:
2And by the border of Dan, from the east side unto the west side; Asher, one.
3And by the border of Asher, from the east side even unto the west side; Naphtali, one.
4And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side unto the west side; Manasseh, one.
5And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side unto the west side; Ephraim, one.
6And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even unto the west side; Reuben, one.
7And by the border of Reuben, from the east side unto the west side; Judah, one.
8And by the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the oblation which ye shall offer, five and twenty thousand in breadth, and in length as one of the parts, from the east side to the west side; and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
9The oblation that ye shall offer unto Jehovah [shall be] of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.
10And for them, [even] for the priests, shall be [this] holy oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand [in length], and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of Jehovah shall be in the midst thereof.
11[It shall be] for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.
12And [this] oblation of the land that is offered shall be unto them a thing most holy by the border of the Levites.
13And over against the border of the priests the Levites [shall have] five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length [shall be] five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
14And they shall, not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land; for [it is] holy unto Jehovah.
15And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a profane [place] for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
16And these [shall be] the measures thereof: the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.
17And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.
18And the residue in length over against the oblation of the holy [portion shall be] ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the oblation of the holy [portion]; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that serve the city.
19And they that serve the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel.
20All the oblation [shall be] five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thousand: ye shall offer the holy oblation foursquare, with the possession of the city.
21And the residue [shall be] for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, over against the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward over against the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, over against the portions for the prince: and it shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house [shall be] in the midst thereof.
22Moreover, from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, [being] in the midst [of that] which is the prince's, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.
23As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side; Benjamin, one.
24And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the west side; Simeon, one.
25And by the border of Simeon, from the east side unto the west side; Issachar, one.
26And by the border of Issachar, from the east side unto the west side; Zebulun, one.
27And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side unto the west side; Gad, one.
28And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar [unto] the waters of strife [in] Kadesh, [and] to the river toward the great sea.
29This [is] the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these [are] their portions, saith the Lord Jehovah.
30And these [are] the goings forth of the city: on the north side four thousand and five hundred measures;
31and the gates of the city [shall be] according to the names of the tribes of Israel; three gates northward, one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.
32And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan.
33And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun.
34At the west side four thousand and five hundred, [with] their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali.
35[It was] round about eighteen thousand [measures]; and the name of the city from [that] day [shall be], Jehovah [is] there.
