 Righteousness is on God's part only. Man condemned and killed the Just One; God raised Him from the dead and set Him at His own right hand. The Son " going to the Father" is the standing witness of righteousness there, and not here. (Notes on John 16:7-11 by W. Kelly)
 Having glorified God His Father, He was going to sit at His right hand, at the right hand of the Majesty on high, to be glorified in God Himself, to sit on the Father’s throne.
