About This Product

Without doubt the Book of Job contains some fundamental teaching for each of us in our relationship with God. W. Kelly clearly had an excellent grasp of these fundamental truths and time studying them in this book will not be wasted. It is only fair to state that while Mr. Kelly’s lectures are generally very lucid and clear these, delivered at the end of his life and not revised, are not up to his usual standards. That said, we feel these pages are filled with valuable truth and would recommend their study. If you are looking for a shorter and more focused work on the key issues in the book, we would suggest you consider Job: Lessons in Grace and Sovereignty.

Perhaps you could already show the scriptural clues related to the offerings that show when the book of Job was written. Or maybe references to the types of idolatry mentioned in the book and how they show the time the book was written are clear to you but I found them helpful. It’s also spiritually profitable to consider how idolatry in man has changed and relate it to our day. Those are just some of the issues you will find addressed in Eleven Lectures on the Book of Job.

Besides help with key spiritual points Mr. Kelly provides insights into the poetic language of the book. From just a natural standpoint poetry can be harder to grasp than prose so help in extracting its meaning helps any Bible student.
