 “Glory of his grace.” We cannot glorify God by adding anything to Him. He glorifies Himself when He reveals Himself. All this is therefore to the praise of the glory of His grace. (Ephesians 1 by J.N. Darby)

 I think “to the praise of the glory of His grace” takes in both the choice of verse 4 and the predestination of verse 5—the character of the choice of God, and the special favor of the predestination of the Father. (Remarks on Ephesians 1:4-14 by W. Kelly)
 “Accepted” is rather a cold word to express what is meant here....But here it seems to me there is the fullness of divine favor, which goes far beyond merely acceptance. It is God making us objects of favor according to all that is in His heart, and in order that this should be most fully brought out, He says, “in the Beloved,” not merely “in Christ.” (Remarks on Ephesians 1:4-14 by W. Kelly)
 He would show His own character—what He is, and not merely provide for what we were. The praise of the glory of His grace flows from what God feels, and in consequence will do, in order to manifest Himself for us. (Remarks on Ephesians 1:4-14 by W. Kelly)

"Taken us into his favour," i.e. "put us into a position of grace and favour." The Greek word is used here and Luke 1.28. "Accepted us" is too formal a doctrine here. "Shown us grace or favour" does not give the force, for then "the Beloved" would be merely the instrument. It is "in the Beloved" that we enter into favour. An alternative reading is, "the favour or acceptance in grace, which he has freely bestowed upon us."
