It was not only the character of His glory here below; it is what He was (what He had been, what He ever is) in the Father’s own bosom in the Godhead: and it is thus that He declared Him. (John 1 by J.N. Darby)
He revealed God as He knew Him, as the only-begotten Son in the bosom of the Father. It was not only the character of His glory here below; it is what He was (what He had been, what He ever is) in the Father’s own bosom in the Godhead: and it is thus that He declared Him. (John 1 by J.N. Darby)
Christ is the truth, the revealer and revelation of God….Nowhere does scripture say with rationalists and, one regrets to add, with theologians, that God is the truth. Not so: God is the “I AM,” the self-subsisting One; He is light, He is love. (John 1 by W. Kelly)
The Son is in the bosom of the Father, not who was, as if He had left it; as He left the glory and is now gone back into glory as man. He never left the Father’s bosom. (John 1 by W. Kelly)

W. Kelly Translation

No one hath seen God at any time: the only-begotten Sona who is in the bosom of the Father—he declared [him].

WK Translation Notes

a
Though there is ancient support, of "God," instead of the ordinary reading "Son." Nevertheless many MSS. read "only-begotten Son." It is not according to the analogy of scripture to speak of "only-begotten God;" and "Son" is the true correlate to "Father."
