El día del Señor
La siega
•  Con la aparición de Cristo también comienza la “siega,”3 que es un juicio discriminativo hecho por los ángeles, quienes limpiarán la tierra profética occidental de todos los ofensores.4 Los ofensores serán tomados de la tierra y arrojados vivos en el lago de fuego. Aquellos que no hayan rechazado la predicación del evangelio del reino, serán dejados en la tierra para disfrutar las bendiciones terrenales del reino. Así como un granjero en los tiempos de la siega separa el trigo de la cizaña, el Señor separará lo bueno de lo malo. La destrucción de los ejércitos del Rey del Norte

•  El Señor saldrá a defender a Jerusalén del retorno de los ejércitos del Rey del Norte (Is. 31:4-9; Zac. 9:8; 12:8; 14:3).
•  El Señor arrojará al Rey del Norte vivo en el lago de fuego (“Tofet”), donde la Bestia y el falso profeta (anticristo) ya se encontrarán (Is. 30:33).
La restauración de Israel
•  La venida del Señor (la aparición) no será solo para la destrucción de las potencias gentiles, sino también para la liberación del remanente judío fiel, y para la restauración de las diez tribus perdidas de Israel5 (Lc. 18:1-8; Sal. 90-106 — 4º libro de Salmos).
•  La restauración de Israel se producirá en dos fases. Primeramente, los judíos (las dos tribus: Judá y Benjamín) que hayan pasado la gran tribulación en la tierra de Israel, serán restaurados al Señor; y luego, las diez tribus perdidas (Dt. 28:25; 32:2625The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. •  La “lengua” del mar rojo (los brazos este y oeste del mar que forman la península de Sinaí), las siete fuentes del Nilo y el río de Egipto (una pequeña fuente ubicada a 120 kilómetros al este de Suez), serán secados. Esto abrirá un pasaje claro y fácil para el retorno de las tribus (Is. 11:15-16; 19:5-10; 27:12-13).
•  Las necesidades de las tribus que retornen serán satisfechas por muchas naciones gentiles, que se humillarán frente al poder y la gloria del Señor manifestado en la tierra (Sal. 18:44-45; 66:3 JND). Las tribus de Israel vendrán sobre caballos, mulas, camellos, carros y en barcos (Is. 11:12; 14:1-2; 49:9-23; 60:8-9).
•  El retorno de las diez tribus será bastante rápido (Is. 60:8-9; 66:8).
•  Mientras los ángeles reúnan a los elegidos de Israel (Mt. 24:31), vendrá mezclada entre ellos una multitud. •  Cuando las tribus que retornen vean al Señor, preguntarán, “¿Qué son esas heridas en tus manos?" El Señor responderá, “Son las que me hicieron en casa de mis amigos” (los judíos). La invasión de Gog — el segundo ataque
de los Asirios
•  Mientras la indignación continúa, Gog (Rusia) y sus enormes hordas (la gran Asiria en su última forma), viendo a las doce tribus de Israel descansar en su tierra, vendrán desde las tierras del norte en un intento por derrotar el reino del Señor Jesucristo en Israel. Esto es mencionado como el segundo ataque de los Asirios (Ez. 38-39; Is. 10:28-32; 29:13; 33:1; Is. 36-37*; 2 Cr. 32*; Sal. 46:3; Sal. 86:14; Sal. 140:1-4,9; Mi. 4:11-12; 5:5).
•  Las noticias de que las hordas lideradas por Gog (Rusia) se aproximan, llegarán a oídos del recientemente reunido Israel, y pedirán ayuda al Señor para salvarse (Is. 10:28-32; 29:4; 37:1-4*; Sal. 86:14-17; Sal. 140-143).
•  Las innumerables filas del ejército enemigo al aproximarse parecerán una nube (Ez. 38:16).
•  El Señor, ahora en Sión (Jerusalén), no permitirá que la ciudad sea tomada de nuevo (Sal. 46:4-6; Nah. 1:1-151The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. 2God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. 3The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. 4He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. 5The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. 7The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. 8But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. 9What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. 10For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry. 11There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor. 12Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. 13For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder. 14And the Lord hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile. 15Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off. (Nahum 1:1‑15); Sof. 3:15).
•  El Señor animará a Israel a confiar en Él como su refugio (Is. 10:24-27; 26:20-21; 37:33-35; Sof. 3:8; Mi. 5:5; Sal. 46:1-3,5; Sal. 140:7; Sal. 143:9; Nahum 1:77The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (Nahum 1:7)).
•  El Señor causará sorpresivamente un terremoto masivo para interrumpir el plan de batalla de los ejércitos invasores. El temor y la confusión se derramarán entre sus filas. El pandemónium comenzará entre los enemigos, y en su pánico los ejércitos comenzarán a atacarse unos a otros (Ez. 38:18-21; Zac. 14:12-13; Is. 29:6).

La vendimia (o el lagar)

•  Cinco sextos de los ejércitos de Gog (Rusia) serán destruidos (Ez. 39:2).
•  El Señor, en fiera indignación, hollará la ola de naciones que sigan a Gog mientras marchan a través de la tierra, desde Jerusalén hasta la tierra de Edom, donde los ejércitos bajo el mando de Gog se reunirán. •  El Señor retornará a Israel desde Edom, habiendo hollado Él solo el lagar (Is. 63:1-6).
Los ejércitos de Israel
•  Habiendo retornado, el Señor guiará a los ejércitos del Israel restaurado a combatir y a subyugar a todos los enemigos que aún estén situados en lo que es su territorio por derecho; tal como en los días en que Josué guió a los hijos de Israel en la conquista. (Jeremiah 51:20‑23); Ez. 25:14; Ab. 17-21; Mi. 4:13; 5:5-6,8; Ez. 39:10; Zac. 10:3-5; 12:6; 14:14; Nm. 24:17-19; 217I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. 18And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. 19Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city. (Numbers 24:17‑19)
17Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards. 18On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. 19And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred. (Numbers 2:17‑19)
 S. 8:1-13*; Est. 9:1-19*; Sal. 118:10-12; Sal. 18:34-48; Mal. 4:33And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 4:3)).
•  Edom recibirá su golpe final de parte de los ejércitos de Israel. No quedará ninguna persona. •  Los filisteos también recibirán su golpe final de los ejércitos de la tierra. Ellos tampoco permanecerán como nación sobre la tierra (Is. 11:14; Sof. 2:5; Am. 1:8; 2 S. 8:1*).
Satanás atado
•  Satanás y sus ángeles serán atados y confinados en el abismo insondable por mil años (Ap. 20:1-3; Is. 24:21-22, “muchos días”).
El juicio de sesiones
•  El Señor establecerá entonces “su gran trono de gloria” en la tierra de Israel, y todas las naciones remanentes de la tierra serán convocadas delante de El. Serán juzgadas de acuerdo a cómo han tratado a los mensajeros del evangelio del reino, que fueron a predicar a todas las naciones (Mt. 24:14). El Señor las separará como el pastor divide las ovejas de las cabras. Las naciones que sean halladas justas, entrarán en la bendición sobre la tierra con Israel. Las que sean halladas injustas, serán enviadas al castigo eterno. Este es el juicio de las sesiones del Señor (Mt. 25:31-46).
 
1. La venida del Señor como ladrón se encuentra cinco veces en la Escritura (Mt. 24:43; 1 Ts. 5:2; 2 P. 3:10; Ap. 3:3; 16:15). En cada ocasión se refiere a Su venida en juicio (la aparición); no al rapto.

3. Este es “el juicio de los vivos” (Hch. 10:42; 2 Ti. 4:1; 1 P. 4:5) que se refiere en forma general al tiempo cuando el Señor juzgará a las personas vivas sobre la tierra. Este es un término amplio que implica el juicio de la siega (Ap. 14:14-16; Mt. 13:39-43), la vendimia o el juicio del lagar (Ap. 14:17-20; Is. 63:1-6), y el juicio sesional (Mt. 25:31-46; Ap. 20:4). La siega y la vendimia son juicios de guerra que se llevarán a cabo cuando el Señor vaya al frente como Rey guerrero en batalla (por ejemplo, el rey David); pero el juicio de sesiones tendrá lugar luego de que todos los ejércitos hayan sido derrotados, y el Señor se siente como Rey sobre Su trono. El juicio de sesiones será una solemne sesión de juicio (como el del rey Salomón). El juicio de la siega comienza cuando el Señor venga del cielo (Su aparición) para destruir los ejércitos del oeste. En aquel momento, Él despachará a Sus ángeles, quienes tomarán de la tierra a todos los ofensores. Más tarde, en el juicio de la vendimia, Él saldrá rugiendo en juicio desde Sión (Jerusalén), aplastando a Sus enemigos. El “juicio de los vivos” no debe ser confundido con el juicio del gran trono blanco (Ap. 20:11-15). Este último juicio es solamente un juicio sobre los muertos inicuos, y se lleva a cabo al final del milenio. El juicio de los vivos es un juicio sobre las personas vivas, y se realiza al principio del milenio.
4. Los ángeles no irán sobre todo el mundo sino que limpiarán el reino de los cielos (el tema de Mateo 13), que es solamente la tierra profética. Si en este tiempo todo el mundo fuese limpiado de pecadores por los ángeles, los enemigos más distantes de Israel no podrían enfrentarle. El Señor está tratando aquí con occidente, con sus ejércitos, y con la gente que queda en esas tierras. Una vez que Él haya terminado completamente Su juicio sobre occidente, procederá a juzgar a los Asirios — al Rey del Norte y a Gog. Ver C. E. 5. Históricamente, luego de que Dios juzgó a Babilonia, la que mantuvo a Su pueblo cautivo, Él lo liberó de su yugo y lo restauró a su tierra. 6. David, quien es un tipo de Jesucristo, fue reconocido primero como rey por Judá, las dos tribus, y más tarde lo fue por las otras tribus de Israel. Luego de que él fuera ungido como rey de Israel, los guió en una victoriosa conquista sobre sus enemigos (2 S. 8). Este orden es el mismo en la profecía.
7. Cuando David retorna a su pueblo luego de ser rechazado por éste, Judá es el primero que va a encontrarlo a Gilgal, el lugar del juicio propio. Será igual en el futuro cuando Cristo retorne (Su aparición): los judíos se arrepentirán y serán restaurados primero (Zac. 12:9-14); luego, las diez tribus vendrán a la tierra y serán restauradas más tarde.

9. Existe una clara analogía entre el viaje de los hijos de Israel desde Egipto hasta Canaán, con el viaje de las tribus que retornan a la tierra luego de la tribulación. Muchos de los profetas hacen un correlato de las dos ocasiones (ver Is. 11:15-16; 51:9-11; Jer. 16:14-15; Ez. 20:34-36; etc.). Los hijos de Israel hicieron su viaje desde Egipto (un tipo del mundo), a través del desierto (el lugar de la prueba), donde cayeron muchos que no creyeron y que tenían un mal corazón, hacia Canaán (la tierra prometida). Las tribus que retornarán a Israel en aquel día venidero, vendrán también de todas partes del mundo (Ez. 20:34) hasta el desierto, donde serán probadas (Ez. 20:35-39); y luego, serán llevados a la tierra prometida (Ez. 20:40-44). En los días en que Josué guió al pueblo hacia la tierra de Canaán, sus corazones no estaban bien con Dios, y por lo tanto perdieron la posesión de ella; pero en aquel día porvenir, siendo renacidos, tendrán un nuevo corazón y un nuevo espíritu guardarán la ley de Jehová en su interior (Jer. 31:33; Ez. 36:26). Consecuentemente poseerán la tierra prometida en forma correcta (Is. 60:21; Ez. 37:25; Jl. 3:20).
10. El arrepentimiento de los judíos y el de las diez tribus será diferente. Los judíos han rechazado a Cristo y recibirán el anticristo; las diez tribus no. Los judíos reconocerán su culpabilidad de sangre en la crucifixión de Cristo (Sal. 51:14), porque ellos son culpable de Su muerte (Hch. 2:23). Las diez tribus, sin embargo, son culpables de haber quebrantado la ley de Jehová. Ellos reconocerán su culpa en esto delante del Señor, habiendo padecido su consecuencia de ser esparcidos por toda la tierra (Dt. 28:25).
