"The God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." 2 Corinthians 1:4.
Oh, how you will miss your loved one,
And your heart is broken, I know.
And you feel there’s naught remaining
But sorrow and tears here below.
But oh! there's a ray of sunlight,
If you'll just lift your eyes above,
And see her there in the Glory,
Safe home with the Savior of love.
Safe home with the Lord of Glory,
With Jesus who loved us each so,
Who bore all our sins on Calvary,
To redeem us from Hell and woe.
Could love like His be mistaken
That summoned your dear one above?
Ah no! for “His way is perfect,"
Perfect in wisdom and in love.
No sorrow so great as His sorrow,
When He hung on that cross alone,
Rejected by man and forsaken
Of God for our sins to atone.
Consider this Man of Sorrows,
Who has suffered such anguish too:
He knows every tear that falleth,
And longs to bring comfort to you.
“He healeth the brokenhearted,”
In your grief, His grace will sustain;
Then cast on Him all your burden,
And receive the eternal gain.
Just learning to know Him better
Brings comfort and sweet peace of mind;
Draw closer to His Heart of Love,
And joy in your sorrow you'll find.
