Walking down the street one day, a young man met some young people giving out gospel tracts—little leaflets like this one. A boy, offered a tract to the young man.

“Tracts everywhere!” said the young man scornfully as he took the leaflet.

“No!” replied the boy, “there will be none in hell!”

“None in hell!” He hadn’t thought of that! The boy’s remark hit home. The young man could not get those words out of his mind. “None in hell!” seemed to echo and re-echo in his ears every time he saw a tract thereafter.

He knew he was a sinner before God; and as time went on he became more and more troubled about eternity. At last he could stand it no longer. Under deep conviction, he came to the Lord Jesus Christ, humbly confessed his sin, and was happily saved.

Friend, the person who handed you this tract did so out of love for your soul—wants you to be saved. Perhaps you resent it, and though you may not say so, you think it is nobody’s business but your own. You don’t want anyone to interfere with your religious beliefs—you prefer to be left alone.

This is just what people thought when the Lord Jesus came into this world two thousand years ago. Satisfied with their own thoughts, their own religion, and their good works, they resented being disturbed. They did not want Him and cried out, “Crucify him.”

Consequently, it is important for us to speak to you about God’s salvation. The Lord Jesus, who said more about hell than anybody else in the Bible, also said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” He means just that; “Go ye into all the world”—not just to the heathen lands. You live in the world, and this message is to you and for you—a message from God himself. It is the gospel, the good news of God’s love to sinners; and we are responsible to God but to you to bring you this message.

The Bible says, “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. The Lord Himself is the Great Physician and He alone fully knows your true condition. In His Word He has made it clear so that you might turn to Him in repentance, confess your sin and guilt, and accept the perfect remedy He has provided.

Without Him your case is hopeless. All your good deeds are as “filthy rags” in His sight (Isaiah 64:6). Nothing you can ever do will ever cancel one of those sins. But thank God, Christ has done it all. The remedy, purchased at so great a cost at Calvary, is free to you.

The Lord Jesus left His throne in heaven, went to Calvary’s cross and there bore the judgment of God against sin for all those that believe by faith in Him. Now He is risen from the dead, is gone back to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, a living proof that God is fully satisfied with His work of redemption for sinners. Now God declares that “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7.

If you receive the Lord Jesus as your Savior today, you will thank God for “tracts everywhere,” and especially for this one which you have received.
