Mankind’s Love: “Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud … lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:2-4). At least some selfishness sneaks into every person’s love to us. Contrast that with God’s Love: God shows “His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He loved us when we hated and disobeyed Him. “The Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). Jesus suffered and gave His life because of His deep love for us. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). If we refuse to accept the loving salvation that Jesus Christ offers, we must accept the consequences of our sins. Which will you do?
