the Son.This appears to be a direct reference to Da 7:13, which the Jews interpret of the Messiah.
For the kingdom and the judgment, according to the counsels of God, belong to Him as Son of Man―in that character in which He was despised and rejected when He came in grace. (John 5 by J.N. Darby)
It is as Son of Man that the Lord Jesus will sit on the throne. Doubtless He will show His Divine knowledge in judging; but, as He says expressly, authority is given Him of the Father to execute judgment, because He is Son of Man. As Son of God He quickens; as Son of Man He will judge. (John 5 by W. Kelly)

J. N. Darby Translation

+
27
and has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is Son of man.

W. Kelly Translation

+
27
and gave him authority to execute judgment [alsoa], because he is Sonb of man.

WK Translation Notes

+
a
The majority read "also."
b
"A" son of man would be wrong, especially in the text. Read not "the," but simply "Son" of man.
