“If any man be in Christ—a new creation.” It is one short absolute sentence. It brings in the new heavens and the new earth—everything to be made new. (Notes on 2 Corinthians 5 by J.N. Darby)
It is no question, as so many make it, of examining ourselves within and seeing how completely we are changed in principles and path as well as spirit and end, since we believed in Christ, though there is a vital change and self-judgment be incumbent on us. It is what faith knows and can say, because of being “in Christ” and knowing Him only as risen. (Notes on 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 by W. Kelly)
