For my own soul, this book provides a breath-taking view of the moral beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ that goes far beyond even the beauty in creation. Who wouldn’t agree that the person of Christ eclipses even the glory of His creation works like the Grand Canyon or the Crab Nebulae?
So much ministry is a point-by-point exposition or an orderly topical approach. In The Moral Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have presented to us the refreshing depth of God. This book gives me a similar sense to what John’s disciples must have felt when they heard him exclaim, “Behold the Lamb of God.”
When I was 16, this became the first complete book of ministry I ever read. There were many references I didn’t understand then, but it did give me awe and attraction to the person of Christ. I’ve read it twice since and gotten a lot more out of it. The type is clear and easy to read, but the book would benefit from being broken into short sections. This is definitely a book that shouldn’t be judged by a quick glance at the cover.
